This page is displayed if you click the DOWNLOAD button when you connect to one of our servers. You might have clicked the link on the help page, or perhaps Googled for UTDC. This page is here to help you install UTDC and to get rid of the "cant find file for package UTDCvxx" message when you connect to servers protected by UTDC.
The easiest way to install UTDC is to click the INSTALL button when you connect to the server. UT will then shut down, and after restart you should be able to connect to the server. You will have to install the UTDC files manually if this procedure fails, or if some of the UTDC files have been deleted from your system. To fix the problem, download this file:UTDC_client.zip
Unzip/extract all the files inside to your unrealtournament\system folder. Do it even if it looks like you allready got the required files! If you are asked to overwrite some files, answer YES.
NB - You have to shut down UT while you install the files!
Older versions (possible needed for other servers):
If you have problems connecting to a server that is running an older version of UTDC, download this file: UTDC_client_old.zip.This file is NOT required for any of our servers as we are using the latest version of UTDC. You can have all versions installed at the same time if you need to. Versions before 14 had a problem related to the UT cache. When the cache was deleted, some UTDC files were deleted with it, and then you had to install UTDC manually.
What is UTDC?
UTDC is an anti cheat mod. It is designed to find and stop external hooks (aimbots, radars etc) written in Windows native code. In order to do that, UTDC is also written in Windows native code. UTDC needs to install a .dll file in your unrealtournament\system folder. The .dll file will not do any damage to your system.
How often do I need to download and install this?
UTDC will be updated from time to time. This is neccessary to stop the newest versions of the cheats. At that point you will have to download the new version of UTDC, but normally that will happen by itself when you connect. It is no longer neccessary to use a cache cleaner to avoid losing the UTDC files when your cache expires. This problem has been sorted in version 14.
Why does the automatic installation procedure fail on my computer?
Loaders like the one used to install UTDC will not work if UT was not installed on the PC in the normal way. If you have copied the UT folder from a different PC or from a backup disk, the registry settings for UT are not added and the loader will not work, ie nothing happens when you click the 'install' button.

Cache cleaners
A couple of words about cache cleaners: You should never EVER use a cache cleaner when UT is running, you MUST shut down UT first. If you use the cleaner when UT is running, UTDC will kick and possibly ban you for hacked files. This is because UTDC is used for integrity checks (MD5) for other files, like UTPure files, and if the cache.ini file does not correctly report which files you have on your system this check will fail. Note: This problem should be fixed in version 15, but I would still suggest that you dont use a cache cleaner when UT is running.
Known compatibillity issues
UTDC version 1.6b works with UT version 4.36, 4.40, 4.51a and 4.51b. We recommend 4.36 for clients (the computer that you play on), the other versions are server versions. If you use an earlier UT version then you have to install a patch. Click here to download version 4.36. You can find the other versions here http://www.utpg.org/
UTDC does not work with Linux and Mac clients, but neither do the cheats that it is designed to stop. Linux and Mac clients might be able to connect without being checked, but because of an issue that cause version 4.36 servers to crash, we are forcing all clients to spawn the check, possibly preventing Linux and Mac clients from connecting. Note: Some new cheats have an option to fake a Linux system in order to connect to the server without being checked. For that reason we will only allow Windows clients to connect to our servers until this issue is solved.
